BBB staff, trustees and volunteers were camped out in Burnley town center over three days this week. Our little pavilion was situated between The Works, Boots and the 99p store. BBB staff Kaye, Nicky, Bea and Nas were joined by the mastermind of this exercise, Colin Wills, as well as Near Neighbours worker Zakariya, and volunteers from the URC and Ibrahim Mosque.
We had some trouble from the wind blowing our leaflets and balloons away and we found ourselves being intermittently soaked by the driving rain and cooked by the shy summer sun.
We’d like to thank all the volunteers who helped out over the three days and everyone who stopped by to chat. A special thanks also goes to Eugene from the town center management and to The Works for lending us their leaflet stands to combat the wind.
