The Lancashire Standing Advisory Committee for Religious Education (SACRE) met today at the Burnley and Pendle Faith Centre, to show their support for Building Bridges in Burnley’s 10 Year Celebrations. The members of the SACRE, including County Councillors, RE teachers and Faith Representatives traveled in from all over the Lancashire region and were welcomed by the Mayor of Burnley, Councillor Charles Bullas.
Presenters included Afrasaib Anwar, the new Faith Centre Coordinator, who spoke about his vision for the Burnley and Pendle Faith Centre and by Helen Harrison, the RE Consultant, who spoke the Youth Voice project.
Displays publicizing the work of Building Bridges were positioned around the room, as well as the winning entries from the schools Essay and Poster competition. A special display of work by Burnley College was also present.
